Computer repair often conjures up images of fluorescent-lit offices staffed by antisocial techies. Not so with MAC 911, a welcoming Macintosh sales and service store run by longtime friends, Ali Nasri and Felix Rosario. Their clients applaud Felix and Ali as much for their personable demeanor as for their meticulous and professional service. And if you would prefer to never step foot in another computer store, Ali or Felix will go on-site to your home or business to install and configure systems or make repairs.
Ali says customers prefer MAC 911 for their availability and dependability. “Other Mac stores are too big to be personal like ours. We know people’s names and their systems when they walk in the door.” In fact, Ali says they serve so many of the businesses and homes in the neighborhood they cannot walk out the door for a cup of coffee without running into a client-turned-friend.
With regard to repairs, Ali and Felix love to troubleshoot. After 11 years in business, they have seen it all. Ali speaks of a recent experience when he recovered information on a hard drive after two other shops had given up. “It’s a puzzle to me. I like figuring it out.” MAC 911 tackles many problems that Apple dealers will not, like liquid spills – they will take the computer apart and clean it before it starts to corrode.
While MAC 911 also sells computers, they do not push sales. Rather, they interview the client to determine their needs. One reference said Ali had talked him out of buying a system because his old computer still served his purposes.
Never again will you have to wonder if a techie is taking advantage of you.
